Replica Hublot Big Bang Sang Bleu II White, a geometric ice palace for the wrist

Since its launch in 2005, Super Clone Hublot Big Bang series has consistently embraced a slightly audacious demeanor, and intentionally so. Bold, brash, and unmistakably opulent, it was a natural fit for a collaboration with Maxime Plescia-Büchi. This Swiss tattoo artist is the creative force behind Sang Bleu, an expansive platform that permeates and influences realms ranging from tattoos to clothing, typography, visual and performance art, and beyond.

The inaugural Replica Hublot x Sang Bleu endeavor debuted in 2016, featuring a meticulously engraved wristwatch adorned with mesmerizing geometric motifs spanning the dial, case, and even intricately embossed onto the leather strap.

The sequel arrived at Baselworld 2019 in the form of the Fake Big Bang Sang Bleu II, crafted in titanium and King Gold, resembling less a modified Hublot and more an occultist’s spacecraft. Now, a fresh iteration emerges, retaining the same case materials while infusing the dial with touches of white and complementing it with a white rubber strap.

The visual spectacle of the Replica Hublot Big Bang Sang Bleu II is impossible to ignore. Every inch of its design exudes meticulous detail and artistry, drawing inspiration, understandably, from Maxime Plescia-Büchi’s tattoo aesthetics—often exploring themes of the macabre, hedonism, and the occult. Describing the 45mm case as mere “design” feels inadequate; it’s more akin to architectural prowess.

The intricately machined patterns interplay with one another, featuring varying facets of high polish and directional brushing that create a mesmerizing hall-of-mirrors effect. At 16.5mm thick, its substantial dimensions match its bold personality, ensuring it never fades into the background on your wrist, especially if adorned with diamond-encrusted embellishments.

The dial captivates with lattice-filled hexagrams ensnaring your gaze from the bezel and sub-dials. While legibility may slightly suffer from the reduced contrast between white hands and a darker dial, the broad kite-shaped hour and minute hands effortlessly command attention as they glide across the face. Adding to its mystical allure is the hexagonally chamfered sapphire crystal, distorting and reflecting the dial’s edges in an otherworldly manner. White accents are delicately balanced by a slate-gray backdrop, occasionally revealing glimpses of the inner workings of the HUB1240 UNICO Manufacture movement, which boasts a flyback complication within its column-wheel chronograph.

Hublot’s legacy of rubber straps shines through with the Big Bang, boasting seamless integration with the case and arrowhead layers that continue the geometric motif. Black edges provide a visual anchor, ensuring the strap remains snug on the wrist and preventing excessive dominance of white elements.
